From its inception as an educational facility in 1997, we have held a firm belief that a sustainable and caring approach to the environment is of the utmost importance.
Water wise local native trees and plants have been used in landscaping. Grey water is recycled using ATU units and half the school’s electricity is generated using solar panels. Included in the school’s design are large outdoor learning areas so children can move outside on hot days rather than use air conditioning.
The fruit of our organic orchard and the produce from our organic food garden are used “from garden to kitchen” in children’s cooking classes.
The school holds one million liters of water in its rainwater tanks, which give students access to fresh drinking rainwater all year round.
