Silver Tree Steiner School is an independent primary school in the Perth Hills, offering a holistic approach to education from Kindergarten to Year 6.
For more than 25 years, we have nurtured curious, capable young people in a setting that honours childhood and supports each stage of development. With dedicated teachers and a beautiful bushland campus, our school offers a learning environment that is both grounded and inspiring.
At Silver Tree, children are supported to grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally and creatively – developing a strong sense of self and their place in the world.
Steiner education has been practised around the world for over a century. It is based on the understanding that children learn best when their education meets them at each stage of their development.
The Steiner curriculum is designed to engage the head, heart and hands. Children are encouraged to think deeply, create meaningfully and connect with the world around them. This balanced approach supports strong academic outcomes, while also nurturing imagination, resilience and a genuine love of learning.
Our curriculum is accredited to national education standards and recognised by the WA Department of Education.
Children at Silver Tree can continue their Steiner education into high school at Parkerville Steiner College, located on the same campus. This provides a natural and supported transition, allowing students to continue their learning journey in a familiar environment.
Silver Tree began in 1997 as a small playgroup in a family home in Darlington. As interest grew, the community came together to establish a kindergarten in Parkerville, followed by the development of the primary school.
In 2011, the school secured its current 10-hectare site, creating the bushland campus that students enjoy today.
Our school continues to grow from these strong foundations – shaped by a community of families and educators who value a balanced, creative and meaningful education.
Set on 10 hectares of natural bushland in Parkerville, our campus is an extension of the learning environment.
Children learn among towering eucalypts, native flora and open spaces that invite exploration and play. Encounters with wildlife – from kangaroos to black cockatoos – are part of everyday life, fostering a deep connection to the natural world.
