A Sustainable School

A Sustainable School

At Silver Tree Steiner School, sustainability is highly valued in our educational and community practices. Since 1997, we have committed to respecting the natural world and cultivating environmentally conscious practices. Our sustainability initiatives are designed to integrate seamlessly into our curriculum and daily activities, reflecting our dedication to creating a harmonious relationship between humanity and the Earth.

We minimise waste through enhanced recycling and composting programs and reduce coal-fired energy use with solar panels. Our efforts also focus on increasing local biodiversity by planting native species and expanding wildlife habitats. Water conservation is a priority, with rainwater tanks storing up to one million litres and grey water recycling in place.

Produce from our organic orchard and garden enriches Kindergarten meals, offering fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients. We use eco-friendly soaps and cleaning products to maintain an environmentally conscious approach. As a certified WasteSorted School and participant in the Sustainable Schools initiative, Silver Tree Steiner School proudly supports environmental stewardship.
